Why I Do This Work
Ever notice how some therapists list thirty specialties on their websites? That’s not only unrealistic—it dilutes focus. If someone claims to treat everything, how can they deliver expert-level care in areas that demand real depth?
After years working across a variety of clinical settings, I saw a consistent pattern: therapy often stayed surface-level. Symptoms were managed and people felt understood, but lasting change was rare. The same struggles kept returning because the deeper patterns underneath them were never fully addressed.
Over time, it became clear why this happens. In many environments, clinicians are expected to treat everything, work at volume, and prioritize efficiency over depth. While that model may meet basic needs, it often falls short for complex struggles like pornography addiction, trauma, anxiety, and the pressures men quietly carry. Meaningful change requires focused expertise, time, discretion, and a willingness to work at the root level—not just techniques that help people cope temporarily.
I also saw how strongly insurance and volume shape much of the field: packed schedules, rushed sessions, and treatment reduced to symptom codes. That approach may manage problems in the short term, but it rarely produces lasting healing.
Working with thousands of clients, clear patterns emerged. Men were silently unraveling under stress, shame, addiction, trauma, and anxiety—often unsure where to turn. Pornography frequently became a coping strategy meant to escape pain, only to deepen the very struggles it was meant to numb. High-functioning professionals delayed seeking help, believing success meant they shouldn’t need it, and ended up carrying everything alone.
Trauma and unresolved wounds were driving much of what appeared as anxiety, addiction, and depression. Without trauma-informed, deeper work, symptoms often returned once therapy ended. Men didn’t want band-aid strategies—they wanted real change.
I wanted to build something different: therapy designed to go beyond symptom management—integrated, evidence-based, and results-driven. That vision became Proven Path Counseling. My goal isn’t just to help people feel better for a while, but to help them grow stronger, find freedom from the struggles that brought them here, and move toward a life where therapy is no longer central—because real change has taken hold.
About Me
Wth over 15 years of experience, I strive to provide care that goes far beyond generic therapy. As an award-winning psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, I’ve trained other clinicians in research-backed methods—so you can feel confident you’re receiving expert-level care, not surface-level counseling.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rider University, followed by an EdS in Clinical Counseling. My early work included college counseling centers and Princeton House in Princeton, NJ. I later served on state and county youth-policy committees then served as Clinical Supervisor within a reputable, large, multi-clinician group practice. I am the proud recipient of the 2024 Mission Award for exceptional psychotherapy and clinical training.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. My clinical focus includes trauma treatment, anxiety and depression, and pornography and sexual addiction. I am certified in the three gold-standard trauma treatments—Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and advanced EMDR (EMDRPT-II)—with additional certification in CBT-based and trauma-informed approaches. I have advanced training in and have devoted my career to treating pornography and sexual addiction at the root level, which is why I am trusted for this complex and often difficult-to-treat issue.
Outside the therapy room, I contribute to media discussions on pornography addiction, masculinity, men’s mental health, anxiety, trauma, and the pressures faced by high-achieving adults. My mission is to raise the standard of therapy and provide care that leads to real, lasting change. When desired, I can integrate a Christian worldview into the work.
At home, I am a husband and father who understands the challenge of balancing work, family, and faith. Counseling is not just my profession—it is a calling to help people move beyond symptom management and toward meaningful, lasting transformation.
Trusted by Leaders
I’m trusted not only by clients, but also by those who lead and serve others. Ministry leaders and even fellow therapists who know when it’s time to refer out to an expert often turn to me—not just for referrals, but for their own personal care. They know they’ll receive discreet, expert-level therapy that goes deeper than surface-level fixes.
That kind of trust is earned—through proven expertise, discretion, and consistent results that bring real change.
